On May 20, 2026, the Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) Chung Yuan Chapter at Chung Yuan Christian University held the “10th BGS Chung Yuan Chapter Distinguished Business Leader Lecture” under the theme “Excellence and Responsibility: From Campus to the Global Stage.” The event attracted more than 250 faculty members and students, with the venue nearly filled to capacity!

 

We were honored to invite distinguished CYCU alumnus and Chairman of IQS Wood Sdn Bhd, Dr. Peng Choong Leng, as the keynote speaker. Dr. Peng is also a BGS Honorary Member and was recently awarded both the “Business Achievement Award” and the “Entrepreneurship Achievement Award” by the BGS Global Headquarters, becoming the first to receive both honors in BGS’s 100-year history and the only recipient in Taiwan!

 

During the event, Dean Min-Lei Chang of the College of Business presented the award plaques sent from the United States on behalf of the BGS Global Headquarters, allowing faculty and students to witness this proud and memorable moment together. The Dean Chang and Associate Dean Chen also introduced the values and significance of BGS as a premier international business honor society, encouraging students to pursue excellence and broaden their global perspectives.

 

At the beginning of his speech, Chairman Peng opened with the thought-provoking question:

“Where will you be in 10 years?”

He shared his journey from studying at CYCU and building businesses overseas to promoting corporate sustainability and giving back to society, inspiring students to continuously develop their professional competence and entrepreneurial mindset.

He also encouraged students to reflect on three important questions:

03｜What value can I create for others?
